The Brief
The clients of this rather neglected front garden approached Karima’s Gardens about a redesign to make their house look more attractive both from the house and the street.
The Design
The front garden of this semi-detached Victorian town house came with the Cordyline Australis already in situ. Rather than remove a perfectly happy and healthy plant, we decided to base the design of the garden around the plant!
Surrey is not known for its coast, nevertheless, we decided that a coastal theme is what would work the best with the Cordyline!
To make this design ‘work’, I chose a selection of plants that would look appropriate for a coastal setting, opting for silvery foliage and a simple mauve and white palette.
The advantages of this scheme is that the plants are drought tolerant, meaning that no watering will be required once the plants are established, which is ideal for a front garden that is often forgotten about.
